A large number of leisure travellers are still choosing to take their holidays in Spain, a travel firm has stated.
According to Cielo, the European country is proving to be especially popular with tourists from the UK, as the overall number of British visitors is on the rise.
This has created a greater need for tourist accommodation in many of Spain's main tourism hotspots, such as the Canary islands, Benidorm and Barcelona.
As a result, the country could potentially be a good location for prospective buy-to-let investors to consider, as it offers a strong rental market with high levels of demand. The Canary Islands remains as the most demanded area in Spain, for holidays lettings.
Pilar Oliver, chief executive of Cielo, added that tourist numbers are increasing partly because of the introduction of new flights to Spain.
She said low-cost airlines are offering services from different parts of Europe and the US, therefore opening the country up to more people.
Spain was recently identified as the most popular market among British property buyers by A Place in the Sun magazine.
