Newly released Foreign Office statistics show Spain is tops with UK holiday makers, Giving a boost to the country's buy-to-let market.
Figures from the Foreign Office show that between April 2007 and March 2008, Spain was the most popular destination for British holidaymakers, with almost 14 million people travelling there.
France came second (11 million) followed by Ireland (4.2 million), America (four million), Italy (3.4 million).
The figures come as further proof that the Spanish property bubble has not burst, at least in the Canary islands where sales have increase an average of 19% and will boost investment in Spain's buy-toilet property market as investors look to cash in on this popularity.
Spain's popularity is based on proximity to the UK, ease of access, cheap air fares, the weather and the advanced tourist infrastructure.
